Who we are
Refracta Research is a developing AI research and development company. We are a small group whose disposition is closer to a studio than a startup: deliberate, restrained, design-led.
Three principles do the load-bearing work.
- Clarity — we make things legible, to ourselves first.
- Provenance — every claim is traceable to the work behind it.
- Restraint — we say less, deliberately, and ship less, deliberately.
How we work
Depth over breadth. Slow before fast. We would rather take one problem seriously than five problems lightly. Engineering, design, and research sit in the same room and read each other’s work — there is no functional wall between them.
The team
A small team of researchers and practitioners with diverse experiences.
Backgrounds in artificial intelligence, quantitative finance, language models, and robotic systems — fields that reward precision, evidence, and craft. That orientation shapes everything we build.
Working with us
Our work is in language models and reasoning systems — the parts of AI that read, infer, plan, and explain themselves.
We are looking for people who treat clarity as load-bearing, whose craft has been tested at depth, and who would rather ship one careful thing than five quick ones. Researchers, engineers, designers — the title matters less than the disposition.
